Mark Jonathan Layton, 62, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away June 11, 2017. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 5, 1954 to Robert Evans Layton and Eileen Ruth Layton. He started out working in the shipping industry and later accomplished his goal of becoming a registered nurse. He worked at Sentara General Hospital for eight years on the oncology floor.

Mark had a passion for sailing and the ocean, but most importantly, his biggest passion was his family. Mark was married to Canelia white and separated after thirty-seven years. They raised...

Mark Jonathan Layton, 62, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away June 11, 2017. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 5, 1954 to Robert Evans Layton and Eileen Ruth Layton. He started out working in the shipping industry and later accomplished his goal of becoming a registered nurse. He worked at Sentara General Hospital for eight years on the oncology floor.

Mark had a passion for sailing and the ocean, but most importantly, his biggest passion was his family. Mark was married to Canelia white and separated after thirty-seven years. They raised two sons together. Mark could walk into any room and put a smile on everyone's face. He had a laugh that was contagious and a warm caring heart that was felt by so many. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Evans Layton and mother, Eileen Ruth Layton.

He is survived by his two sons, Jonathan and Bryan; two daughter-in-laws, Jaime and Brooklyn and granddaughter, Baylee; brothers, David, Phillip and Brent; sister-in-law Claudia; nephews, Alex, Hunter, Evan and Alan; nieces, Michelle and Kara and grandnieces Clair and Abby.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
